DHA looks to promote medical tourism

In a bid to boost number for the medical tourism segment, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) will be supporting the International Medical travel Conference and Exhibition (IMTEC).
The event will take place from 7-8 October at the Dubai International Convention Centre. The DHA has a goal to promote and facilitate medical tourism in Dubai. The authority is also looking to support healthcare infrastructure to strengthen Dubai’s position as a medical travel hub with the aim of hosting more than half a million medical tourists by2020
IMTEC will host more than 100 exhibitors from all over the globe. Visitors will be able to speak to representatives and healthcare professionals from 20 destinations offering more than 50 treatments.
Dr Layla Mohamed AlMarzouqi, director, Health Regulation Department, DHA, said: “Medical Tourism is a field that is seeing tremendous growth. Dubai offers an array of excellent medical services across various fields of healthcare.”
The conference presents an opportunity to showcase services that both the private and public health sector have to offer.
More than 35 speakers will gather at IMTEC to discuss how various sectors beyond the traditional healthcare sector have developed and marketed health improvement oriented services.
