Princess Cruises has completed the Far East updates to the Diamond Princess.
The 2, 670-passenger ship now features a Japanese bath area with indoor and outdoor facilities including a traditional ‘onsen’ hot spring experience.
A sushi restaurant has also been added to the ship as well as more shops with brands including Burburry, Fendi, Coach and OMEGA.
Its casino and sports court were also updated during a two-week drydock period in Singapore, with the ship now sailing out of Japan.
“Having viewed these refurbishments for myself I’m pleased to say that Diamond Princess is a truly stunning ship. It offers an authentic Far East experience, complete with unparalleled sea views, which will really appeal to UK passengers looking to immerse themselves in the culture,” said Paul Ludlow, managing director UK & Europe at Princess Cruises. “We’ve seen our sharpest bookings growth in Japan this year, with an increasing number of passengers telling us they are looking to travel to more far-flung, exotic cruise destinations. The changes on Diamond Princess will unquestionably enhance this experience.”
