Online travel agency Directline Holidays has introduced GBP1 deposits for its holidays booked from Monday (26 November).
The per person deposit scheme will be available for summer or autumn holidays in 2013. The OTA hopes the low deposit scheme will help cash-strapped families secure their holiday in advance.
“We have created this unprecedented low deposit scheme as we recognise many of our customers are short on cash before Christmas, but in order to secure the best prices for next year’s break the best option is to reserve their trip now. Our new scheme allows customers to do this without breaking the bank,” said Maria Whiteman, CEO of Directline.
“We’ve also noticed a significant increase year on year of customers booking holidays early so this low deposit scheme will go some way to helping them make their holiday more affordable.”
