Dorchester Collection has acquired the previously Starwood-managed Hotel Eden in Rome.
Management of the hotel has switched over to Dorchester immediately after the buy-out from owners Starman Hotels.
Hotel Eden opened in 1889 but the building it is housed in was originally built in 1834.
The hotel will now go through a restoration although the timing and scale is yet to be finalised. Eden is one of Rome’s most famous hotels due to its popularity with royalty, celebrities and politicians.

Its landmark status, heritage and individuality complement the style and locations of our other nine hotels in the UK, France, Switzerland, Italy and the US,” said Dorchester Collection’s CEO Christopher Cowdray.
