Hong Kong-based hotel chain Dorsett Hospitality International has opened its first hotel in London.
Dorsett Shepherds Bush celebrated its official opening on Monday night with a party that included a string quartet and aerial gymnasts.
The hotel has 317 rooms with facilities including the Pictures restaurant, Jin bar, an executive lounge, gym and spa.
It is Dorsett’s first opening in the UK and also in Europe.
Speaking to Travel Daily, Winnie Chu, president and executive director at Dorsett Hospitality International said: “We believe in this area and the growth that is currently in West London. Here our guests are within walking distance from various shopping opportunities such as Westfields and Kensington and we get corporate business from those visiting companies in Hammersmith.”
She revealed the hotel could also be extended to serviced apartments that would be located in a former Walkabout-branded bar next to the current hotel.
Plans are also underway for another Dorsett property in the City of London area of Aldgate. This is due to open in the end of 2016.
