Emirates received a double Airbus A380 delivery over the weekend.
The airline welcomed two new double-decker aircraft at Dubai International Airport on Friday – the 46th and 47th A380s to join the airline’s fleet. And the two new jets have already entered service, on the Bangkok and Melbourne routes.
Emirates welcomed its first A380 six years ago and now operates the world’s biggest fleet of this aircraft type. It also has outstanding orders for a further 138 A380s. The airline configures its A380s with either 489 or 517 seats, with onboard facilities including bars and showers in first class.
The delivery coincided with the launch of a new promotional video campaign, ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, which features two of Emirates’ Global Ambassadors – Cristiano Ronaldo and Pelé.
