In a bid to cater to growing leisure and business travellers, a new brand aptly titled Dubai Inn was recently launched. The first phase will see a roll out of hotels in prime locations this year. The property is a joint venture of Meraas Holding and Emaar Properties.
Work on the first property under this agreement will commence shortly in the Zabeel area. The flagship project is scheduled for completion in 2015. Under the agreement, an additional four properties will be added to the portfolio to collectively supply over 1,750 new hotel rooms.
Dubai Inn’s fundamental attributes are style, service and comfort with complete functionality. Mohamed Alabbar, chairman of Emaar Properties, said: “With more than 66.4 million passengers passing through Dubai International Airports in 2013 and number expected to cross over 100 m by 2020, Dubai must more than double its current hotel room capacity. The city is also focused on strengthening its hospitality infrastructure to host over 25 m visitors for the World Expo 2020.”
The hotel will look to cater to increasing number of guests from Europe, Africa, China, Southeast Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.
