Dusit International has unveiled plans to open its first hotel in the Philippine city of Cebu.
The Thai hotel group has signed a management agreement Cebu-based developer Grand Land Inc (GLI) for a new Dusit Princess hotel in the city. Set to open in 2018, the high-rise Dusit Princess Cebu will offer 295 rooms with views of the city and ocean.
Facilities at the midscale property will include restaurants, meeting rooms, a gym and swimming pools.
The hotel will form part of a mixed-use development also featuring retail outlets, offices and apartments.
“We are excited to grow our presence in the Philippines,” said Rustom Vickers, group director for development for Dusit International. “With its position as a key gateway to Southern Philippines, strong corporate demand and myriad tourist attractions, the island is currently seeing a boom of development.”
The new Cebu hotel becomes Dusit’s second property in the Philippines, following the Dusit Thani Manila.
