Visitors to the Taj Mahal will now be able to take advantage of a new e-ticketing service.

The scheme was launched recently as part of the new Indian government’s drive to modernise the country’s tourism industry. As well as the famous Agra mausoleum, e-ticketing services have also been introduced to Humayun’s Tomb in New Delhi.

Meanwhile, India has also launched a new 24×7 tourist helpline and special welcome cards for international tourists arriving at international airports.

Narendra Modi’s new government is undertaking a series of projects to develop India’s tourism industry and infrastructure. This recently included the launch of electronic visa-on-arrival services for the citizens of 43 countries.
