Eastin Hotels & Residences is plans to boost its Asian portfolio to 11 properties this year.

The hotel collection, which forms part of Thailand-based Absolute Hotel Services, recently launched two new hotels in Thailand – the newly opened five-star Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn Bangkok and four-star Eastin Hotel Makkasan Bangkok – and Absolute’s Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Wigley said the expansion is expected to gather pace in the months and years ahead.

“I am absolutely delighted with the expansion of the Eastin brand in 2012 and am looking forward with great excitement to 2013 and beyond where we will be announcing many more additions to the Eastin name throughout Asia,” said Wigley. “Our vision… is coming to fruition and the future holds great opportunities for Eastin’s reputation to grow and grow.”

The company combines a series of brand tiers under the Eastin umbrella. Eastin Hotels are split into four- and five-star properties, and consist of a minimum of 150 rooms with a range of high-end facilities including large conference and event venues. The two existing properties in Bangkok will soon be joined by new openings in India, including the Eastin Hotel Ahmadabad and Eastin Sun Hotel Pune, which are expected to launch in 2012 and 2013 respectively.

The extended-stay Eastin Residences brand will debut in Oman later this year, with the launch of Eastin Residences Muscat, while the select-service Eastin Easy brand, which offers a minimum of 40 rooms and six-, 12- and 24-hour stays, is already open in Bangkok and will soon be joined by new hotels in Hanoi, Amritsar, Goa, Ahmadabad and Kolkata.
