easyJet orders 27 more aircraft

easyJet has ordered another 27 Airbus A320s with its combined order now at 415 aircraft.
The new aircraft will help the carrier to continue reducing its fuel burn and has 315 A320s on order as well as 100 in the A320neo range. The airline already operates 225 A320s in its fleet.
“We are bringing new aircraft into the fleet as we continue to see a significant number of new profitable opportunities in our core markets in the near term and in order to maintain our cost advantage,” said Carolyn McCall, easyJet chief executive.
“easyJet is a demanding customer and this repeat order is as solid an endorsement as you can get for the A320’s proven productivity, reliability and comfort. The A320 Family has the widest cabin which also helps with faster airport turnaround times,” added John Leahy, Airbus chief operating officer, customers.
