Ecuador’s minister of tourism, Freddy Ehlers was on a recent visit to Qatar to enhance tourism ties between the two countries.
“Qatar could be a regional hub for South America-bound tourists. We hope to promote tourism from the Gulf to Ecuador,” said Ehlers. A delegation led by minister Ehlers concluded a six-day visit in response to an invitation from HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, as reported in Gulf Times.
The delegation presented key tourism offerings of the country such as the Amazon jungles, snow-capped volcanoes of the Andes, beaches along the Pacific coast and the Galapagos Islands. Ecuador caters to tourists who are looking for adventure, special interest travel or specialised tourism.
