Emirates will increase its capacity to Phuket later this year, with the launch of four new weekly flights.
Commencing on 1 December 2015, the new flights will boost the capacity of the Dubai-Phuket route by 57%, with all the extra services being operated using a 360-seat, three-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
“Since the launch in 2012 Phuket has been a solid success story. The fact that we are now adding a further four weekly flights highlights not only the desirability of the destination but also the demand for passengers wishing to travel with Emirates,” said Thierry Antinori, Emirates’ executive vice president & chief commercial officer.
“These new flights have been well timed to not only maximise connections across our network but also allow for a morning arrival in Phuket, giving travellers even more time to enjoy the island and its surrounds.”
Emirates currently operates 42 weekly flights to Bangkok and seven to Phuket. And the increase in capacity to Phuket follows the recent signing of a codeshare agreement with Bangkok Airways, which has added 14 new destinations to the Emirates’ Asian route map.
