Emirates adds one-off A380 service to Iran

In a bid to celebrate a new route, Emirates will operate a one-off Airbus A380 service to Imam Khomeini International Airport on 30 September 2014. This additional service is light of of the launch of the fourth daily flight which began on 1 September 2014. Emirates operates four daily, non-stop flights between Dubai and Tehran.
The one-off A380 flight will operate as EK979 and will depart Dubai at 1415hrs, arriving at Imam Khomeini International Airport at 1600hrs. On the return flight EK980 will depart Imam Khomeini International Airport at 1905hrs arriving in Dubai at 2150hrs.
Saeed Galandari, Imam Khomeni airport general manager welcomed the initiative to operate the Airbus A380 to Iran. “Emirates decision to send this aircraft to Teheran is an indication of the developing transport industry of Iran, and good relationship between Emirates Airline and the airport management. We hope this step will open a new chapter in the airline industry,” he added.
