Emirates has expanded its presence in Southeast Asia with the launch of a new service to two cities: Yangon and Hanoi.
The new daily kicked off this month, operating from Dubai to Yangon, onwards to Hanoi and then back to Dubai via Yangon. This expands the airline’s network in Southeast Asia to 12 cities in seven countries. Myanmar becomes a new country on the airline’s route map.
Onboard the inaugural flight was Badr Abbas, Emirates’ senior vice president of commercial operations for the Far East.
Under the new schedule, flight EK388 will depart Dubai daily at 0330 and arrive in Yangon at 1140. The service will then take off from Myanmar’s largest city at 1300 and arrive in Hanoi at 1530. The return flight, EK389, departs Vietnam’s capital city at 2250 and touches down in Yangon at 0020 the next day. It then takes off again at 0150 and arrives back in Dubai at 0505.
The route will be operated by Emirates’ Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and passengers will be offered a minimum checked baggage allowance of 35kg.
