Emirates will commence a new trans-Atlantic route next year, with the launch of flights to the US city of Boston.
The Massachusetts city will become Dubai-based Emirates’ eighth destination in the US, and its 12th in the Americas, when flights commence on 10 March 2014. The service will be operated daily using a Boeing 777-200LR aircraft.
“Our Boston service will further develop this exciting gateway into the northeastern United States. Based on passenger demand, we believe the time is right to further boost our US operations, while stimulating channels of trade and tourism to and from the state of Massachusetts and the wider New England region,” said HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Emirates’ chairman & chief executive.
Flights will depart Dubai International Airport every day at 0945, arriving in Boston at 1515. The return service will leave the US city’s Logan International Airport at 2255, getting back into Dubai at 1910 the following day. JetBlue Airways will codeshare on the flights.
Emirates started flights to the US in 2004 and now flies to seven cities – Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington DC.
