Emirates boost South East Asia services

The potential South East Asia market will soon have increased connectivity from Emirates. 
The airline plans to increase its services to – the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia. Effective 3rd December, Kuala Lumpur flights will be increased from three daily to 25 a week, increasing to 26 a week from 6th February, 2013. From 1st January, 2013, Manila will get a third daily flight with a third daily, non-stop service beginning 1st March, 2013 to Jakarta.
“The increase is due to strong demand from the region. The extra daily flights will increase capacity on the Jakarta and Manila routes by 50%. The increased capacity will also stimulate further tourism and trade between Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, UAE and beyond,” said Salem Obaidalla, Emirates’ senior vice president, commercial operations Far East & Australia.
The Manila and Jakarta service will be operated with a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, in a two-class configuration, 42 Business Class and 386 Economy Class. The Kuala Lumpur service will be operated on an Airbus A330-200.
