Emirates has tripled its network of destinations in the Philippines with the launch of flights to Cebu and Clark.

The new triangular service took off for the first time on Wednesday 30 March, carrying a delegation of Emirates executives including Badr Abbas, the airline’s senior vice president of commercial operations for the Far East.

The new service will now operate daily from Dubai, flying direct to Cebu and then onwards to Clark, before returning direct from Clark to Dubai. Emirates will deploy a two-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the route, with 42 seats in business class and 386 in economy.

“We are confident that our new service will have a positive impact on the development of tourism and trade in the Philippines’ regional economies,” said Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ divisional senior vice president of strategic planning, revenue optimisation & aeropolitical affairs.

“The service will also provide more choice for travellers from the Philippines, who will be able to conveniently connect to 39 cities in Europe, 16 in the Middle East as well as a number of destinations across our extensive network in Africa and South America via… Dubai.”

Flights will depart Dubai International Airport every day at 0255, arriving at Mactan-Cebu International Airport at 1550. The service will then depart Cebu at 1720 and arrive at Clark International Airport at 1850hrs. The return flight leaves Clark at 2020 and arrives back in Dubai at 0120.

The new flights will complement Emirates’ existing flights to Manila.
