Jetstar and Emirates have agreed to codeshare on several routes across Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia.

Under the terms of the deal, Emirates will place its ‘EK’ code on 27 of Jetstar’s routes, including seven domestic routes in Australia, four new routes in New Zealand, six trans-Tasman flights between Australian and New Zealand and 10 international routes from Singapore to Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong.

This will give Emirates access to six new destinations, including Bali, Hamilton Island, Dunedin and Siem Reap.

“This agreement will see us bring our extensive Asia Pacific network consisting of some of the most popular leisure destinations, to the doorstep of Emirates passengers across the globe,” said Lisa Brock, Jetstar’s group chief commercial officer.

“Working with Emirates we have created a product and a network offering that will provide Emirates passengers with a range of new holiday options, in turn driving inbound tourism traffic to Australian destinations including Hamilton Island, Byron Bay and Uluru.”

The codeshare agreement will commence on 6 April and members of the Emirates Skywards frequent flyer programme will be able to earn points on the Jetstar flights.
