Emirates has opened an airport lounge at Glasgow Airport, in time for the Commonwealth Games.

The lounge is the airline’s 14th in Europe but is the first non-domestic opening for Glasgow Airport, where Emirates has been flying to for 10 years.

The lounge offers access for the airline’s first and business class passengers as well as loyalty club members, with services including food, drinks, a business centre, reading areas, showers and a prayer room.

“Our new Emirates Lounge at Glasgow is the largest at the airport and represents a significant GBP2 million direct investment. Its opening celebrates our decade long operations and our close ties with Scotland,” said the airline’s president Tim Clark. “The lounge opening today is a testament to the success of our double daily operation. The lounge will be an unrivalled premium experience for our customers travelling to popular destinations including Bangkok, Perth, Sydney and Singapore, via our hub in Dubai.”
