Emirates will upgrade its Dubai-Vienna service this summer with the launch of Airbus A380 flights to the Austrian capital.
Commencing on 1 July 2016, one of Emirates’ two daily flights to Vienna will be operated using the 519-seat double-decker jet. The second daily flight will continue to be served using a 360-seat Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
“Over the years we have gradually seen an increase in demand for our services in Austria thanks to the strong response and support from our customers. We are very pleased now, as a further step, to bring our flagship A380 to Austria,” said Thierry Antinori, Emirates’ executive vice president & chief commercial officer.
The daily A380 flight will depart Dubai at 0855 and arrive in Vienna at 1255. The return service will then leave at 1505 and arrive back in Dubai at 2245. This will run alongside the B777 flight which departs Dubai at 1715 and leaves Vienna at 2245.
“Emirates’ decision to deploy the world’s largest passenger jet for its scheduled flights to Vienna underlines the great importance of our economic region and the Vienna-Bratislava catchment area for the airline. This is a very special honour and we are now pleased to belong to the group of A380 airports,” said Julian Jäger, board member at Vienna International Airport.
Emirates will deploy its three-class A380 to Vienna, with 14 seats in first class, 76 in business class and 429 in economy.
