Enterprise Holdings, which operates the National, Alamo and Enterprise car rental brands, is moving into Australia and New Zealand.
The US-based company has appointed Australian car rental company Redspot as its franchise partner in the two countries, and now plans to offer its services at multiple airport and city locations across Australia and New Zealand.
“We see tremendous opportunity in Australia, where the addition of a new player that’s truly focused on customer service will create healthy competition for customer loyalty,” said Peter A. Smith, Enterprise Holdings’ vice president of global franchising.
Enterprise Holdings, through its regional subsidiaries, claims to operate the largest fleet of vehicles in the world – approximately 1.5 million – and a global network of more than 8,600 car rental outlets in more than 70 countries.
Its Enterprise, National and Alamo brands will become operational in Australia later this year through Redspot’s network at all of the country’s major airports, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, as well as in city centre locations. New Zealand operations will commence in 2016.
And the two companies said they would embark on an “aggressive development plan” for both markets.
“This expansion is the latest milestone in our Asia Pacific growth strategy,” Smith added. “We’re careful to choose franchise partners like Redspot who not only have a history of success, but also share our values and commitment to customer service.”
