In an effort to pursue a strong commitment to global education, Etihad Airways has helped to renovate three schools in remote areas of Kakamega county in western Kenya.
The initiative has been rolled out to create a brighter future for underprivileged children. A senior delegation from Etihad Airways visited Kenya to officially open the Likuyani primary school, nursery and special needs boarding school.
The much-improved facilities, with a student capacity of 1,700, were handed over to the school’s administration after a year of building repairs and improvement work. The comprehensive project included refurbishment of the schools’ infrastructure including classrooms and staff rooms, and the construction of a new playground, dining hall, kitchen and lavatories for both boys and girls. In addition, schools were also supported with new uniforms and shoes for students.
