In an effort to limit its carbon footprint, Etihad Airways initiated the Fuel Optimisation Week. The week-long campaign promotes its fuel efficiency programme which is designed to raise awareness of its efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
The programme will highlight activities designed to reduce consumption of aircraft fuel, both on the ground and in air. The reduction in fuel consumption results in a reduction in carbon emissions, reducing potential negative impact of aviation on the environment.
James Hogan, president and chief executive officer of Etihad Airways, said: “We continues to seek ways to reduce impact on the environment and this initiative aims to keep our staff and broader community informed of our efforts.”
During the week, the airline will work more closely with the various operational stakeholders including Civil Aviation Authorities, Air Navigation Service Providers and Airport Ground Service Providers.
