In a recent development, Etihad Airways along with Alitalia hosted the official ‘Chengdu Week’ event. The showcase was held at the Expo Milano 2015 joint pavilion.
These events will give a better understanding of what the travel industry can offer, and the ‘Chengdu Week’ is just one of the destination showcases to be featured at the joint pavilion. Sponsored by the Chengdu Culture and Tourism Development Group, the ‘Chengdu Week’ will include a themed exhibit and activities to showcase the tourist destination and a regional cultural centre in Southwest China.
The event will also include a master chef class on Sichuan cuisine, a traditional tea ceremony, Chengdu heritage talent show called face changing opera, and a ‘Kungfu Panda’ welcome show.
Shane O’Hare, senior vice president, marketing of Etihad Airways, said: “As one of our four destinations on Greater China, Chengdu is an important market for us. ”
Throughout the Expo, Etihad Airways and Alitalia will provide approximately 100 daily flights to and from Milan. These flights will include 125 cities with non-stop flights to Milan and an additional 741 destinations with just one stop.
