Middle Eastern carrier Etihad Airways has celebrated seven years of flying to the Philippines by travelling with a delegation of executives to Manila.
The journey, will also celebrate Etihad’s10 year anniversary, proves the importance of the Philippines to the company, said its CEO James Hogan.
Leading the delegation, Hogan meet with local business leaders and will go on to host a cocktail party for 250 guests, including the UAE ambassador to the Philippines Moosa Abdulwahid Alkhajah.
“From a modest start of four weekly A330-200 flights in 2006, Etihad Airways now operates twice daily services to Manila with a larger Boeing 777-300ER aircraft,” explained Hogan. “That’s more than threefold growth in just seven years.
“Over the same period, we have carried more than 2.3 million passengers with an average seat factor of approximately 86 per cent, making the Philippines route one of the strongest performers in our network.”
