Etihad Airways has unveiled a new fare concept which will be rolled out from 14 September 2015.
The new ‘Fare Choices’ initiative will allow passengers to select from eight different fare options, with varying levels of flexibility, baggage allowance, miles earned and optional inclusions such as priority check-in, chauffeur service and upgrade eligibility.
There are four economy class fares (Economy Breaking Deals, Economy Saver, Economy Value and Economy Freedom), three business class options (Business Breaking Deals, Business Saver and Business Freedom) and one first class fare (Freedom).
“Ultimately, this is about providing choice,” said Peter Baumgartner, Etihad’s chief commercial officer. “In most industries, there is a move towards allowing customers to tailor and customise their experience, and ours is no different.
“When it comes to booking a flight, not everyone’s needs are the same. Some guests want to travel light and on a budget, whilst others want to be able to make last-minute travel decisions, carry extra baggage or earn more miles. For example, if a guest wants more flexibility, more luggage, and priority check in, they can select our Economy Freedom Fare Choice.”
Fare Choices will apply to all bookings made on or after 14 September 2015, whether purchased from a travel agency, Etihad Airways Contact Centre, or online via etihad.com.
