Eurostar has added new services over the Jubilee bank holiday after reporting a 30% surge in bookings over the weekend.
As well as Europeans visiting the UK for the Jubilee celebrations, Eurostar said many Brits are taking an extended mini break, with Friday 1 June set to be its busiest day. With more than 30,000 people are expected to travel with the operator on that one day, it has added new services to cope with demand.
Bookings for the weekend with Eurostar are up 46% compared to the Royal Wedding weekend with Avignon, Bruges and Amsterdam amongst the most popular destinations.
The news follows our story earlier this week that found Brits are taking holidays as far as the Caribbean for the Jubilee bank holiday weekend to take advantage of the extended time. The trend had been noticed by Elegant Hotels after a chat with them earlier this week.
