Eurostar has continued to see growth in passenger numbers and revenue in its third quarter results.
The rail operator saw 5% more people travel during the three months compared to last year, moving up to 2.7 million.
Sales revenues during the quarter grew 10% to GBP207 million, compared to GBP188m in Q3 2012.
Business travel sales increased 14% in the third despite including the summer months, with traffic up even compared to the Olympic period last year.
More international travellers that are not in Eurostar’s core European destinations are using its services, with many travelling between London and either Paris or Brussels in their itineraries.
“Business traveller volumes have been growing steadily for several months and this quarter’s performance continues that encouraging trend. As a bell-weather for the health of the wider UK economy, the growing strength of the corporate travel market gives us confidence in the business outlook to the year end,” said Nicolas Petrovic, chief executive of Eurostar.
The train operator announced new services to Amsterdam will launch in 2016 which will be its focus moving ahead.
