Taiwan’s EVA Air will expand its Australian operations later this year with the launch of additional flights to Brisbane.

Effective 4 October 2016, the airline will add three more weekly flights between Taipei and Brisbane, taking the total frequency to five flights per week. The airline said the new flights would provide Australian passengers with more one-stop connections to destinations in mainland China.

The three additional flights will depart Taipei every Monday, Thursday and Saturday, complementing the existing Tuesday and Friday services. All five weekly flights depart Taoyuan Airport at 2300 and arrive in Brisbane at 0950 the next morning, and the return flights leave at 1145 and arrive back in Taipei at 1845.

EVA operates the route using a two-class, 252-seat Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

Brisbane is currently EVA’s only destination in Australia. The airline suspended its Sydney flights a decade ago.
