Passengers flying between Taipei and Paris will soon be able to make their journey a little bit more cute, following the deployment of EVA Air’s Hello Kitty aircraft on the route.
The Taiwanese carrier will start operating its special edition Boeing 777-300ER to the French capital from 29 October 2014, in a move that will mark the colourful aircraft’s debut in Europe.
In partnership with the cuddly cartoon character’s creators, Sanrio, EVA has adorned five of its Airbus A330s and one B777 with images of Hello Kitty and her friends. And in addition to the colourful exteriors, the aircraft cabins are also decorated in a Hello Kitty theme and flight attendants wear special uniforms.
The new Paris services will replace the Taipei-Los Angeles Hello Kitty flights, which have been running since September 2013. In addition, EVA operates Hello Kitty jets to Tokyo (Haneda and Narita airports), Fukuoka, Seoul, Guam, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
According to EVA, the designs are intended to “make flying fun and spread happiness among passengers all over the globe”.
The Hello Kitty Paris service will operate as flight number BR88, departing Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The return services will leave Paris every Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
