The new Royal Laurel Class features fully-flat beds

EVA Air has revealed details of its new business cabin, which is expected to be launched next month.

The new Royal Laurel Class, which will be progressively rolled out on EVA’s fleet of Boeing 777-300ERs, includes 38 seats, all of which convert into fully flat beds and include “privacy panels” to separate passengers from the rest of the cabin. The seats are approximately 65cm wide and stretch out almost two metres when fully reclined. Each seat includes a coat hook, space for shoe storage, small desks to rest glasses and books, and a seat-side table.

In terms of technology, EVA will fit every Royal Laurel Class seat with a 15.4-inch touch screen, noise-canceling headphones, power outlets, USB ports, and software such as media player, photo viewer and PDF reader.

Passengers will also receive a new amenity kit featuring Bulgari products.

EVA’s inaugural Royal Laurel Class service will operate on the airline’s direct Taipei-New York service, initially only on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, before being rolled out to all five weekly flights by the end of August. The new cabins will then be progressively launched on flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, Paris, Amsterdam and London. All cabin upgrades are expected to be completed by August 2013.
