Fairmont has opened a new hotel in the eastern Chinese city of Nanjing.

The 359-room Fairmont Nanjing is located on the upper floors of the 62-storey Jin Ao Tower, overlooking the Yangtze River. All rooms will include 46-inch flatscreen TVs, high-speed internet access and bathrooms with rain showers, while there is also a range of Fairmont Gold rooms and suites – Fairmont’s club room concept.

Hotel facilities will include seven F&B outlets, including a restaurant located on the 60th floor and Nanjing’s first rooftop-bar, which is decked out with cabanas, a jacuzzi, music bar and a manmade beach. There is also a 1,120m² Willow Stream Spa with seven treatment rooms, an indoor mineral pool, saunas and steam rooms, plus more than 2,500m² of function space, including a 1,200-pax capacity ballroom.

“The city of Nanjing is one of the fastest growing travel destinations in China and we are delighted to open Fairmont Nanjing at such an opportune time,” said the hotel’s GM, Martin Leclerc.

“The hotel will be part of a new luxury residential and commercial development area, and leveraging on Fairmont’s distinct brand of service excellence and commitment to delivering authentic experiences, we will play a role in helping to put this area on the map for discerning luxury travellers.”

Fairmont Nanjing becomes the brand’s fourth hotel in China, following properties in Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu and Kunshan. But Fairmont plans to open at least three new Chinese properties in the coming years, including the Fairmont Chengdu & Residences (2015), Fairmont Taiyuan (2016) and Fairmont Hangzhou (2017).
