Farnborough Air Show 2014 – Day Two Deals

The Farnborough International Air Show is taking place in the UK this week, and Travel Daily will provide a daily round-up of all the major deals signed at the show. Here’s a rundown of the biggest deals from day two:

Japan’s SMBC Aviation Capital has placed a huge order for 115 Airbus A320s, including 110 new A320neo and five existing A320 aircraft.

AirAsia X has signed a contract for 50 new Airbus A330neo aircraft, with options for a further 50, in a deal worth US$13.8 billion.

Brazilian carrier Azul has placed an order for 30 new Embraer E195-E2 jets, with purchase rights for a further 20 of the same model.

Avolon, the Irish aircraft leasing firm, has signed a deal for 15 of Airbus’ newly launched A330neo aircraft.

BOC Aviation, the Bank of China’s aircraft leasing arm, has placed an order for 43 Airbus A320s, comprising seven A320neo and 36 standard A320 aircraft

US-based Trans States Holdings, which operates Trans States Airlines, Compass Airlines and GoJet Airlines, has ordered 50 Embraer E175-E2 jets, with options for a further 50.

Intrepid Aviation has announced its first direct Boeing order for six B777-300ERs, valued at US$1.9 billion.

Japan’s Fuji Dream Airlines has penned a contract for six Embraer E175 regional jets, with options for an additional three aircraft.

Azerbaijan Airlines has signed a firm order for two Embraer E190 regional jets in a deal worth US$95.4 million.

Leasing company CIT Group has agreed to buy 15 Airbus A330-900neo aircraft,  five A321s and 10 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.

US-based Air Lease Corporation (ALC) has placed a firm order for 26 Boeing jets – six B777-300ERs and 20 B737 MAX 8 aircraft, valued at US$3.9 billion.

Bek Air of Kazakhstan has placed an order with Russia’s Sukhoi for seven Superjet 100 aircraft, to be delivered in 2015 and 2016.

Abu Dhabi’s Falcon Aviation Services has agreed to purchase five more Q400 turboprop aircraft from Bombardier

US-based Horizon Air has signed a firm order for one Bombardier Q400 turboprop aircraft
