Fiji Airways has resumed its direct flights to San Francisco, and will now operate the route all-year-round.

The trans-Pacific service commenced in 2016 as a seasonal service, but strong demand has allowed Fiji Airways to commit to year-round flights. The airline is also increasing the frequency from two to three weekly flights (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday) in the high season from June to August and December.

“Our expansion out of SFO represents our position as the premier carrier for Fiji and the South Pacific, as well as being a gateway carrier to Australia and New Zealand,” said Fiji Airways’ managing director & CEO, Andre Viljoen.

Flights will now depart Nadi International Airport at 2215 and arrive in San Francisco at 1345 the same day, having crossed the International Date Line. The return flights will then take off at 2300 and land back in Fiji at 0510 two days later.

The 10-hour flights will be operated by Fiji Airways’ Airbus A330 aircraft with business and economy class cabins.
