Finnair has revealed plans to add more flights to the capital cities of England, Scotland and Ireland.
The Helsinki-based airline will raise the frequency of its new Edinburgh service to five weekly flights for summer 2017, up from three per week in 2016, while services to Dublin will increase from six to nine per week.
The Edinburgh route will be served by 138-seat Airbus A319 aircraft, while a mix of A319s and 100-seat Embraer E190 regional jets will be deployed to Dublin.
Finnair noted that both the Edinburgh and Dublin routes offer convenient connections to destinations across Asia, some of which are now being served by its brand new fleet of Airbus A350 aircraft.
The airline will also add a fifth daily flight to London Heathrow from 5 October 2016, using the 297-seat A350, and this service will continue for summer 2017.
“We are pleased to announce these enhancements, due to passenger demand, to our summer 2017 schedule between the UK, Ireland and Helsinki. Therefore allowing passengers even greater flexibility to take advantage of our award winning service and excellent connections to Asia,” said Andrew Fish, Finnair’s sales director for the UK, Ireland & Benelux.
Finnair has also added four new short-haul routes to its summer 2017 schedule. Between 11 April and 28 October, the airline will fly direct from Helsinki to Reykjavik, Corfu, Menorca and Ibiza.
