Finnair has launched a new website to support Visit Finland’s new stopover campaign.
Through the ‘Stopover Finland’ initiative, Visit Finland is aiming to attract more Asian travellers to stay in the country while travelling to and from Europe with Finnair. A series of stopover packages has been created, ranging from five hours to five days, and these can now be booked via the new stopover.finnair.com website.
“We are truly excited to be able to offer our customers the opportunity to stop and breathe between flights and discover Finland at the same time,” said Anssi Partanen, Finnair’s head of travel products.
“The Stopover Finland initiative is a perfect match for our expanding network in combination with the growing interest towards Finland as a destination among Asian travellers. The activities and tours offered will also be suitable for travellers coming from anywhere in the Finnair network.”
Using the new website, Finnair passengers will be able to choose from a selection of 50 activities and tours in Finland, provided by Primera Holidays. These range from day trips in Helsinki to five-day tours to destinations such as Lapland.
Finnair is aiming to double its Asian passenger traffic by 2020, compared to 2010. The national carrier is launching its brand new fleet of Airbus A350 aircraft to multiple Asian gateways, including Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore, and will soon start flying to two new Asian destinations: Guangzhou and Fukuoka.
