Finnair has announced the cabin layout and design for its Airbus A350 XWB aircraft.
The A350 will have 297 seats with 46 lie-flat business class seats in a 1-2-1 layout. Each will have a 16-inch touchscreen in-flight entertainment system with AC and USB power outlets.
In economy class there will be 43 Economy Comfort seats with 35-inch pitch while the remainder have a 31-inch pitch.
LED lights will be installed to create a ‘calming atmosphere’ and the air will be changed every two to three minutes with a new air filtration system.
The cabin design for the aircraft, which will be used on long-haul flights, has been designed by Helsinki firm dSign Vertti Kivi & Co which also designed its airport lounge.
“We have worked hard to create a special customer experience onboard the new A350XWB aircraft and are proud to bring Finnish design to Finnair’s passengers,” said designer Vertti Kivi. “Our Space Alive concept means dynamic lighting, colours and moods to suit the time of day, destination or season. For example, when descending in the East the aircraft can be awash in warm orange tones, or surface interiors may glow in fresh blue hues when arriving in Helsinki.”
