Finnair has taken delivery of its seventh Airbus A350 aircraft.
The new long-haul jet was delivered on Thursday as part of a leasing arrangement with GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS). Like Finnair’s other A350s, it comes fitted with 297 seats – 46 in business class, 43 in premium economy and 208 in economy.
Finnair has ordered a total of 19 new A350-900 aircraft, which it will mainly use to strengthen its Asian routes – Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore and Bangkok will all eventually be served by the new fleet.
The next new aircraft is due to arrive in the first quarter of 2017 and the full order will be completed by the end of 2023.
The modern twin-aisle aircraft are being used to revamp Finnair’s long-haul fleet, replacing its old A340s. At present, Finnair has the world’s second largest A350 fleet, after Qatar Airways.
