The inaugural commercial flight of the new Airbus A350 aircraft will be 100% full, with Qatar Airways confirming that all tickets have now been sold.
The new 283-seat, two-class aircraft will enter service on the Doha–Frankfurt route on 15 January 2015, with passengers occupying all 36 business class and 247 economy seats.
The A350 was delivered to Qatar Airways late last month and this week the airline presented its new aircraft to media in Doha.
“We are ready to commence operations with the A350 XWB and are delighted to introduce another level of service with our expanded fleet,” said Qatar Airways’ group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker.
“The engineering design of the A350 XWB is modern, technologically refined and spacious, and we are proud to welcome yet another fine aeroplane into the Qatar Airways’ fleet.”

The arrival of the A350 makes Qatar Airways the only airline in the world to operate every series of Airbus aircraft, comprising the A320 (including the A319 and A321), A330, A340, A350 and A380.
In total it has ordered 80 A350s, making it the largest customer for the aircraft. Forty-three of these will be the mid-sized A350-900 while 37 will be the larger A350-1000.
Qatar Airways first A350 – an A350-900 model – will feature 36 business class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, all of which convert into 80-inch fully flat beds and feature 17-inch HD in-flight entertainment screens. The 247 economy class seats will be configured in a 3-3-3 layout, offering a 32-inch pitch and 10.6” in-flight entertainment screens.
