Assembly work on Vietnam Airlines‘ first ever Boeing B787 Dreamliner has been completed, ahead of the aircraft’s launch this summer.
New pictures released this week provide the first glimpse of the B787-9, which features a tailfin painted with Vietnam Airlines’ new livery.
Vietnam Airlines will launch the new Dreamliner on its services to London Heathrow Airport, initially with four flights per week. This will gradually rise to a daily service by summer 2016.
The airline has ordered a total of 19 Boeing B787-9s, which it will configure with either 274 seats in a two-class layout or 311 seats in a three-class configuration.
These aircraft form part of a major upgrade of Vietnam Airlines’ long-haul fleet; the national carrier will also start taking delivery of its new Airbus A350 aircraft this summer.
