InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a management agreement for its first Holiday Inn Resort in Fiji.
Located adjacent to the entrance to Denarau Island, Holiday Resort Denarau will be offer 173 rooms and suites, including 21 specially-designed family units. Facilities at the resort will include three outdoor pools, a spa, restaurant, nightclub and two meeting rooms.
The resort is being developed by Avoster Ltd and will open in 2018.
“We are always looking for the right opportunities to expand our presence and are delighted to be working with Avoser Ltd… to develop Holiday Inn Resort Denarau Island in yet another key island destination in Fiji,” said Karin Sheppard, IHG’s chief operating officer for Australasia, Japan, Korea & Asia, Middle East & Africa (AMEA) franchising.
“The hotel is set to be a great example of a Holiday Inn resort and we’re confident it will be a popular choice amongst our guests when it opens in 2018.”
Holiday Inn Resort Denarau Island will be the company’s third property in Fiji, joining the Holiday Inn Suva and InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa.
In total, IHG now has 39 properties open in Australasia across its InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brands, with five more properties due to open in the next three to five years.
