Wyndham Hotel Group has continued its rapid expansion in China with the launch of the country’s first ever Wyndham Garden property, located in Suzhou.
Wyndham Garden, a full-service upscale hotel concept, becomes the seventh Wyndham brand in China, following Wyndham Grand, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Ramada, Howard Johnson, Days Inn and Super 8.
And Wyndham Garden Suzhou becomes only the brand’s second location in Asia Pacific, following the recent launch of the Wyndham Garden Guam.
Located close to the city’s Guanqian Street, the 289-room Wyndham Garden Suzhou features Chinese and international restaurants, conference rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, gym, snooker area, four chess rooms and a library.
“The number of visitors and tourism revenues in Suzhou are steadily climbing year over year, creating a ripe market for hotel development in one of China’s major economic centres,” said Leo Liu, Wyndham’s president & managing director for Greater China.
“With the launch of Wyndham Garden, we’re able to address the needs of visitors looking for upscale accommodations, whether travelling for business or pleasure. Wyndham Hotel Group’s greatest strength lies in the variety of brands we can offer travellers around the world, and we’ll continue to focus on expanding in high-demand destinations throughout China.”
In September 2015, Wyndham became the first international hotel group to reach 1,000 hotels in Greater China. Its nationwide portfolio now covers more than 260 cities and 30 provinces.
