Flight Centre and Intrepid divide My Adventure Store

Flight Centre and Intrepid Travel have announced that the current joint venture (JV) of My Adventure Story (MAS) will end at the end of the year.
The JV, which started in 2008, sees the 17 MAS stores ran by both companies however, the change will mean that all stores in Australia, Canada and Wellington (New Zealand) will be owned by Flight Centre and Intrepid will operate the London and Auckland (New Zealand) stores.
The changes will be rolled out with immediate effect in Canada and New Zealand, the 30 September in London and 31 December in Australia.
Staff will transfer to either Flight Centre or Intrepid.
James Thornton managing director of Intrepid Travel commented: “We both win with this agreement. Flight Centre is a retail expert, while Intrepid delivers fun, affordable and sustainable adventure holidays to travellers around the world.
Moving forward, this allows us to focus on our strengths while retaining our close ties in order to grow the adventure travel sector.”
