Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) has expanded its presence in India with the opening of its first retail outlet in the Gujarati city of Surat.
Flight Shop, the Indian leisure travel brand of Australia’s FCTG, is on a mission to open 50 more stores in India over the next two to three years. The Surat store becomes its 17th nationwide and third in the northwest state of Gujarat.
“We are delighted to launch our first Flight Shop store in Surat – the economical capital of Gujarat,” said Shravan Gupta, executive director of leisure businesses for FCM Travel Solutions India.
“Over the last few years, Surat has grown to become one of the fastest developing cities in the country, with constantly rising travel demands of two to three trips in a year per household.”
Spread over more than 100m² in the city’s VIP High Street, the Flight Shop outlet in Surat will cater to the needs of families, business and leisure travellers, and groups. It will provide a full range of products and services, including domestic and international flights, holiday packages, hotels, cruise holidays and visa services.
Flight Shops are now available in Mumbai, Delhi, Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi and Surat.
