Flight Centre opens first Hong Kong store
Flight Centre has opened is first retail store in Hong Kong.
Located on Caine Road in the Central district of the city, the new retail facility will be a Flight Centre superstore with two teams of leisure travel consultants. It becomes only the third Flight Centre-branded shop in Asia and the first outside Singapore.
“This new store will bring a more sophisticated retail travel offering to Hong Kong and will be the only local travel agency with a focus on servicing expatriate clients,” said Flight Centre Greater China’s General Manager, David Fraser.
“The expatriate and returned overseas Chinese markets have been underserviced in Hong Kong in the past, so Flight Centre has positioned itself to pursue this great opportunity and target these markets more aggressively.
“As our leisure travel staff have previously operated from our call centre, we saw the need to open a bricks and mortar store to better service these niche markets and give expatriates an easy way to interact face-to-face with our experienced travel consultants.
“Central is a major expatriate area, so locating the store here will provide convenient access to travel services for those who reside in the areas of Mid Levels and Soho, as well as those who work in Central,” Fraser added.
The new Flight Centre store will offer both local and expatriate travel consultants who are native English speaking and bilingual. Services will include short- and long-haul international flight bookings, accommodation, car hire, transfers, tours and complete packages. Insurance, destination information, and assistance with visas and passports will also be available.
The shop will operate alongside the company’s corporate travel operations in China and Hong Kong.
