Microsoft Gulf and flydubai announced that the airline has begun using a Windows 8 application at Dubai International airport Terminal 2 to facilitate passenger check-in. The app reduces the process to only two minutes per passenger.
The App runs on a touch-enabled tablet that connects to the airline’s backend services and is integrated with a passport scanner and printer. The Windows App aims to ease the process of check-in for passengers.
Michael Mansour, directors of apps and innovation at Microsoft Gulf, said: “At Microsoft, we’re committed to helping customers do more through our technology innovation. Travel is one of the fastest growing industries in the region. It is under increasing pressure to deliver improved quality of service while tackling productivity and workforce shortage challenges.”
