flydubai recently inaugurated its first flight to Hargeisa Egal International Airport.
The new service will mark the launch of a direct four times weekly service. The inaugural delegation from flydubai was headed by Ghaith Al Ghaith, chief executive officer of flydubai and Sudhir Sreedharan, senior vice president commercial (GCC, Subcontinent and Africa).
The high-profile delegates were welcomed by HE Abdirahman Abdillahi Ismail, vice-president of Somaliland and HE Mohamud Hashi Abdi, minister of civil aviation and air transport of Somaliland.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, chief executive officer of flydubai said: “The addition of Hargeisa to our network will provide the Somali diaspora with more opportunity to visit their families. With the interline agreements, we have in place more than 250 destinations can now offer flights to Hargeisa through Dubai’s aviation hub.”
The Hargeisa route will be served with four flights a week. This will result in a total of 64 weekly flights between Dubai and destinations in Africa. Commencing from 09 June 2015, flight FZ661 will depart Dubai International Terminal 2 at 04.05 hrs, landing in Hargeisa Egal International Airport at 06.35 hrs. The return flight FZ662 will depart Hargeisa Egal International Airport at 07.35 hrs, landing in Dubai at 12.15 hrs.
