Fred. Olsen is to continue offering bowls on its cruises following its partnership with Norfolk-based No Fly Cruising.
The cruise line will operate its first bowls cruise around the UK and Ireland next week aboard Braemar, which will see guests play in Dublin, Belfast , Kirkwal and Invergordon . By not having any baggage allowance restrictions, bowlers can bring their own equipment on board and it is believed to be a first ever cruise to offer bowls.
No Fly Cruising has enlisted the help of British indoor bowling sensation Greg Harlow, currently the number one rated player in the world and the winner of seven World Bowls Tour titles, to host games and talks on the cruise.
No Fly Cruising is a sister company of Potters Leisure Resort in Norfolk, which plays host to the annual World Indoor Bowls Championships and will see Fred. Olsen sponsor the tournament in 2012 for the first time.
John Potter, owner of Potters Leisure Limited, and chairman of No Fly Cruising said: “This friendly bowls cruise will be the first of many, allowing our guests to cruise with like-minded people, with lots to look forward to for bowlers and non-bowlers alike,” said John Potter, owner of Potters Leisure and chairman of No Fly Cruising.
