Royal Caribbean will have cruise ships based in Singapore for a full year in 2015-16.

The Legend of the Seas liner, which previously homeported in Singapore from 2008 to 2013, will return to the city next year via the north coast of Australia. Once based in Singapore, it will sail a series of three- to 10-night roundtrip itineraries to destinations in Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.

With the Legend’s sister ship, Mariner of the Seas, also sailing from Singapore in the winter season of 2015-16, next year will mark the first time that Royal Caribbean will offer year-round sailings from Singapore.

“This year-round deployment is a milestone for Royal Caribbean International which underscores our stronger presence and commitment in Singapore and Southeast Asia,” said Jennifer Yap, Royal Caribbean’s managing director for Singapore & Southeast Asia. “We are especially pleased to have Legend of the Seas, one of Asia’s most favourite ships back in this region next year.”

Legend of the Seas underwent a US$50 million refurbishment in Singapore last year. It will transition back to the city from Brisbane on an 18-night itinerary, departing in late November 2015.

The 2015-16 Southeast Asia, Australia and South Pacific cruises will open for sale on 21 May 2014.
